Bhojpuri Actor Manoj Tiwari also attacked in crackdown on Baba Ramdev Fast at Ramlila Ground

Actor & Singer Manoj Tiwari was one of injured in the crackdown that happened at the Ramlila Maidan, New Delhi on Saturday night. Actor has spent the complete Saturday with Baba Ramdev. Tiwari said “I am not a Baba follower but I decided to support the Baba as he is fighting against corruption”.
After he return to Mumbai, he said “I was sleeping in the pandal when I was woken up by a policeman’s boots that stamped on me”.
He added, “I was driven out by the police with lathis. I must have ran at least 3-4 km to save my life”.
Himachal and Uttarakhand’s higher reaches saw rain & snowfall

Uttarakhand’s high reaches the shrines of Badrinath, Kedarnath and Yamunotri saw snowfall while the lower hills and plain areas continued to experience light to moderate rains bringing cold in the state. Himalaya’s higher reaches saw snowfall following continuous rains for the past 2-3 days posing problems for pilgrims undertaking the Chardham Yatra pilgrimage.
In Himachal Pradesh, Snowfall in the higher reaches and intermittent rain in low and mid hills brought the temperatures across the state to comfortable levels. Keylong, the headquarters of Lahaul and Spiti, experienced 18 cm of snow fall. The picturesque tourist resort of Manali experienced 43 mm of rain today, while the majestic Rohtang Pass, just 52 km from Manali, experienced mild spells of snow fall.
Indian Railways set new rules applicable on or after 1st June, 2011 for senior citizen concession

To provide maximum benefit to senior citizens, Railway ministry, Government of India has decided following set of rules.
In case of male senior citizens
- Government increased the amount of concession to 40% from existing 30% for male senior citizens who are above 60 years of age.
- New concessional fare of 40% will be applicable on tickets purchased on or after 1st June, 2011.
- If tickets already issued for travel on and after 1st June, 2011, In that case refund of difference of fares will not be admissible.
In case of women senior citizens
- The minimum age for availing senior citizens concession has been reduced to 58 years from the existing 60 years.
- The amount of concession remains to be 50%.
Senior citizen’s concession is granted in the basic fares of Mail/Express trains and all inclusive fares of Rajdhani / Shatabdi / Jan Shatabdi trains.
Important details:
Senior citizens are given concession through PRS(Passenger Reservation System) on demand(and not by default). In that case senior citizen has to carry some document showing proof of their age or date of birth, issued by any Government institution/Agency/Local Body. This may be in the form of an Identity Card, Ration Card, Driving License, Passport, Educational certificate, certificate from Local Bodies like Panchayat/Corporation/Municipality, or any other authentic and recognized document to be produced, if demanded by authorized Railway Official during the journey.
