			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Chakrata (Old name Jaunsar Bawar) is situated at the elevation of 5500-6500 ft., from the sea level in Uttarakhand state’s capital Dehradun District. Chakrata is 92 km away from Dehradun and 73 km from Mussoorie. Location is between the Yamuna and Tons River. It was originally a cantonment of British Indian Army. Original population is Jaunsari tribes, thats why it was called Jaunsar Bawar in earlier. Chakrata is a beautiful hill station of oak trees and a better option to enjoy Uttarakhand hills apart from tourist crowded hill station like Mussoorie and  Nainital. Chakrata is ideal place for adventure lovers, nature lovers, couples and family vacation.</p>

<p><strong>Tigar Fall: </strong>This is the very much popular attraction of Chakrata. A beautiful and highest water fall of Uttarakhand falling from 312 ft., visitors can be reached here by easy trek between the rhododendron and oak trees forest with enjoying of natural beauty of Uttaranchal.</p>
<p><strong>Chilmiri Neck: </strong>This is the area where Garhwal Rifles Mess and quarters are situated. It leaves unforgettable impact on travelers due to its scenic view of dense forests. This is the ideal spot for watching natural beauty, watching birds of different colours and panoramic view of Himalayan peaks.</p>
<p><strong>How to Reach Chakrata</strong></p>
<p><strong>By Air:</strong> The nearest airport is Jolly Grant in Dehradun after that one can take bus or taxi to reach there.</p>
<p><strong>By Train:</strong> The nearest railway station is Dehradun and bus and taxies are available there. If tourists are coming from New Delhi they can take Jan Shatabdi Express (2055) from Delhi to Dehradun.</p>
<p><strong>By Road:</strong> The place is well connected by road with Dehradun and Mussoorie. So you can reach Chakrata via Dehradun and Mussoorie by your personal vehicle or taxi. If tourists are coming from New Delhi through state Buses, They will get bus and taxies from ISBT Dehradun. It is around 92 km from Dehradun and approximately 335 km from Delhi by road.</p>
